Day 8: 12 Days of Christmas With EduDeo

Blog Archives:

This blog is Day 8 of the 12 Days of Christmas with EduDeo. Keep following along to read more stories of celebration from 2018.

One of our favourite ways to share about the work of EduDeo Ministries is partnering with students and teachers across Canada. We love watching as students and teachers learn more about what Christian education looks like in the world around them, as they think of creative ways to serve those around them, and as their passion for global, Christ-centred education increases.

Most of all, we love seeing students around the world developing real relationships with one another, and how those relationships translate into action.

Over the last year, we’ve seen more students, teachers and classrooms partner together with EduDeo to serve schools around the world – and we’re excited to celebrate how Christian schools across Canada are working with classrooms around the world.

Here are just a few celebrations we have from another year of working with Canadian Christian Schools!

  • The Well Project – In May, our partners in Zambia brought together a proposal for wells to be drilled at a number of their schools. After a cholera outbreak in January shut schools down for a number of weeks, clean water became a pressing issue. We asked students across Canada to partner with us in raising funds for the Well Project, and students are blowing us away. On April 30, 2019, we’re looking forward to students from over 21 different schools participating in a water walk. This project, led by students at Providence Christian School in Dundas, ON – will raise funds for The Well Project. Interested in learning more about The Well Project? Read more here:
  • HANDS: Construction – We love seeing students travelling to serve and build relationships with students in other countries, and the added blessing to the community of an improved school is a great benefit as well. We’re grateful for Guido de Bres Christian High School and Providence Reformed Collegiate for their continued partnership and work in the Domincan Republic.
  • HANDS: School2School – Our HANDS teams from Christian high schools can be about more than construction projects, and our School2School teams prove that. Each year, students from Red Deer, AB and Abbotsford, BC travel to visit their sister schools in Nicaragua. They travel together, visit the homes of Nicaraguan students, work on projects together, serve the community together, and more. These relationship building trips are a highlight both for all students involved. Interested in a HANDS: Construction or HANDS: School2School program for your school? Contact for more information and next steps.

  • Road2Hope: School Edition – Every year, students across Canada raise funds and race around their schools as part of the Road To Hope: School Edition. From BC to Ontario, students run to keep schools running. In 2018, students have raised over $10,000, which will be designated to The Well Project. Interested in bringing the Road 2 Hope: School Edition to your school? Email (Eastern Canada Schools) or (Western Canada Schools) for more information.

  • Write2Hope – Students in Burlington, the Dominican Republic and Dundas worked together to write “The Unexpected Friend”/”El Amigo Inseperado.”  This is the second published book through the Write2Hope program, which started with an idea of how students in Canada could work with students around the world in working through common scenarios. They all wrestled with the story plot, dreamed of how the story would progress, and were all excited to see the final result.  In 2019, the program is reaching classrooms across Canada and is expanding to include classrooms in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Are you interested in participating in this program in the future? Email Phil Beck at to reserve your spot for the 2019-2020 school year!

Today, we’re grateful to be celebrating Canadian Christian schools, especially as they journey with Christ-centred schools all around the world.
