Day 10: 12 Days of Christmas with EduDeo

Blog Archives:

This blog is Day 10 of the 12 Days of Christmas with EduDeo. Keep following along to read more stories of celebration from 2018.

Here at EduDeo, we’re all about investing in leaders. We believe that the key to transforming education lies with equipping leaders with the tools they need to build Christ-centred schools.

But how do we move from investing in individual leaders, to investing in all our partners together?

The Global Education Summit.

From September 16 – 29, 2018, 18 leaders from 8 of our partner countries travelled to Canada to invest in each other – and be invested in.

Our hope? To build a professional global learning community, so that these leaders can continue to encourage, lean on and mentor each other – not just for two weeks, but for years to come.

Here are some of the highlights of the Summit:

Canadian Christian School Visits: participants travelled across the country to visit a total of ## schools in Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

Meeting the EduDeo Staff and Board: participants shared short presentations of their organizations, and how Christ-centred education is making a difference in their country. There was a time for conversation and questions following the presentations.

“Celebrate the Movement” Reception: Volunteers, donors and friends of EduDeo were invited to attend an evening reception at Redeemer University College. Two participants (Rev. Nehemiah from Zambia, and Narlly from Nicaragua) spoke about the movement of Gospel + Education in their countries, and attendees had the chance to interact and get to know each other.

The Global Education Summit: the core reason for coming together. Participants had a time to share with just each other their joys and struggles – experiences that are common to all of them. They discussed what it means to be a Christ-centred leader, and how that impacts every part of their work in education.

Niagara Falls Cultural Day: participants and Staff travelled to Niagara Falls for a beautiful day of sightseeing and relaxation.

Christian Schools Canada Leadership Conference: participants and select Staff travelled to Ottawa for the 9th Leadership Conference, meeting with Christian school teachers and principals from across Canada.
