Happy Thanksgiving from EduDeo Ministries!

Blog Archives:

Proclaimed ‘a day of general thanksgiving to Almighty God for the blessings with which the people of Canada have been favoured’ by the Canadian government on January 31, 1957, Thanksgiving Day remains a day of faith, family and gratitude for many Canadians across the country.

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving this year, the team at EduDeo Ministries would like to take this opportunity to thank God for His rich blessing and to also thank you – our supporting community – for your generous giving!

EduDeo Ministries has many things to be thankful for:

  • We thank God for the privilege of sharing the Gospel message in classrooms across the globe. We are thankful, despite global political unrest, economic uncertainty and poverty, that Christ is Lord and remains sovereign over all.
  • We thank God for a gifted and generous support community in Canada. Whether it’s runners who have signed up and continue to raise support as they train for our upcoming Road2Hope race in Hamilton, faith-based business leaders and entrepreneurs who have registered for the Outlook Summit event, Friday, October 18 or supporters who have purchased tickets for the upcoming Getty concert at Hamilton Place, we thank God for blessing us with active participants, skilled volunteers and willing hearts.
  • We thank God for our passionate and growing partners -- ACECEN and the Nehemiah Center in Nicaragua, the PCSB in Belize, COCREF in the Dominican Republic and the CCAP in Zambia - as they strive to impact their communities by implementing a Biblically-integrated approach to the classroom.  We are especially thankful that two key leaders from the field, Rev. Peter Chipeta and Bornface Mumba, representatives from our partner, the CCAP in Zambia, will be joining us for an interactive visit to Canada this October.
  • We thank God for our faithful volunteer educators, Ike and Jennie Witteveen and Jake and Minka Vriend, as they currently lead our Walking Together program in Ethiopia and South Sudan.
  • We thank God for our partnership with Christian schools across Canada, including the students and schools that have participated in Road2Hope School Edition events, as well as teachers and administrators that have engaged us at Christian school association events across the country.
  • We thank God for all our HANDS teams and the churches, families and support communities that are walking along

As we take time to think about God’s blessing in our lives this Thanksgiving weekend, we realize we have so many material and spiritual gifts to be thankful for. Whether in ministry, work or personal life, we pray your family, church and school will be blessed throughout the fall season.

“I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” (Psalm 9:1-2, ESV)
